Thanksgiving and That Dress

We celebrated the kids' 2nd Thanksgiving at Grandma & Grandpa's house. As usual, the food was fantastic and this year we had not one, but TWO deep fried turkeys!
And unlike like last year, the kids were in relatively good health (minus the stomach bug and diarrhea). Still it was a fabulous day and one of my favorite holidays!

We also dressed the kids up for the holiday. I can't believe how big and handsome Luke is getting -

Then there's beautiful Brina. What's going on with that dress you ask? Well, it was a gift from Grandma J. It's not really my cup of tea nor Mike's. But I had an epiphany and realized Grandma J really loved the dress. When she gave it to me, she was hesistant not sure how I'd react. I didn't say anything immediately and took it home. Even though I wouldn't have picked it out myself, I'm glad Grandma got to see her favorite dress on her granddaughter. The more I thought about it, I realized what harm would it be to us and yet what happiness would it bring to Grandma. Just a thought I had and something you might want to keep in mind when you get that handmade/knitted gift from Aunt Beatrice.

awww, I think Bree looks adorable in her dress and yes bringing joy to grandma on Thanksgiving is the icing on the cake. She must have felt so proud. You know what I'm going to say next don't you ... where is a pic of grandma and Bree together with her wearing the dress???? ... well ... I'm waiting! Oh the pressure, now she may just have to wear it a 2nd time.

I know exactly what you mean! My kids have a Nana who sews. Mostly she makes very cute things but some have been "not my cup of tea" as well. But I know it makes her so happy to see the kids dressed in her handiwork :)

BTW Bree would look adorable in anything! Don't know if I've told you before but I have always thought that she is not only cute, but so so pretty. Both your kids are major head-turners!! :)

I am going to keep that in mind more often. I have had some less than desirable outfits given as gifts and I admit sometimes it is hard to put my gorgeous little babies in them but it really does make people happy to see them in the outfits that they took the time to pick out. And its just a dress right? Another day, another outfit... And I agree with Shannon. They really are major head turners!

She looks adorable. Don't we all have that "Aunt" who gives us clothing that we have to put on our kids.
